Life is always changing! Whether a family member is moving in to help out, a new partner is joining your household, or a friend needs a place to stay long-term, your home can become a busy place. While it might seem like a small detail, letting mPark Homes management know about changes in who is living in your home is actually one of the most important things you can do as a resident.

It’s More Than Just a Formality

When you first moved into our community and signed your lease, you entered into an agreement that helps keep mPark Homes a safe and organized place for everyone. Notifying management isn't about "checking up" on you—it’s about protection. When we know exactly who is living in each home, we can ensure that every resident is accounted for during emergencies and that all community standards are being met. It’s all about creating a transparent, accountable, and safe environment for you and your neighbors.

The Risks of Staying "Off the Radar"

Keeping a new occupant "under wraps" might seem easier at first, but it can lead to some serious headaches down the road:

  • Lease Violations: Unreported occupants are often considered a breach of contract, which could unfortunately put your entire tenancy at risk.

  • Insurance Issues: If an accident or incident occurs on your lot, your insurance provider may deny a claim if they discover unauthorized individuals were living there.

  • Safety & Screening: Our community relies on background screenings to ensure peace of mind for all families. Skipping this step bypasses the safety nets we have in place.

  • Emergency Situations: In the event of a utility failure or natural disaster, management needs to know who is on-site to ensure everyone's safety.

Who Counts as an Occupant?

Not every weekend visitor needs to be reported! However, most leases specify that anyone staying for more than 14 to 30 days should be officially listed. This includes:

  • Adult family members (like grown children or parents) moving back in.

  • New romantic partners or roommates.

  • Long-term guests who have made your home their primary residence.

The Process is Quick and Easy!

Don’t stress—notifying us is simple! Just stop by or call the mPark Homes office. We will guide you through the next steps, which usually involve a standard background screening for any new adults. This is a routine process designed to keep our community welcoming and secure for everyone.
